vanillaface, what definition of religion are you using? Ie. What is your definition of religion?
I'm referring to the mindset which causes a person to believe in things known not to be true.
Perhaps a good example is socialism.
Socialism cannot work, and experience shows that it does not work, but not just "does not work", but causes enormous economic damage, misery, and death.
And yet, millions of people are socialists.
Why is this?
Are they evil for wanting to inflict such damage on others? Well, some of them will be.
But for the majority, it's a religious belief.
You can tell a Jehovah's Witness that the Earth is older than 12000 years, and he'll probably believe it, but he won't admit it.
It's the same for socialists.
A Jehovah's Witness will not give his child a blood transfusion to save his life, because of religion.
A ******** will willingly submit his child to serfdom under the EU, because of religion.
Extinction rebellion - OMG, we are gong to die in 12 years.
Religious belief.
CO2 trails temperature rise; it doesn't cause it.
"CAST OUT THE DENIER - SACK HIM FROM HIS JOB - PUNCH HIM BECAUSE HE MUST BE A NAZI - DESTROY HETERONORMATIVITY".
Religious nutcasery.
Christianty is so boring. All those coffee mornings and praising god.
Socialism is groovy, it's exciting, you can dye your hair, you can walk around with a banner saying **** TRUMP, in front of kids. It's edgy.
