Putting a mirror up in the lounge on the chimney breast, so plenty of solid brick.
The mirror has two hook/loops on the back, I believe they're called strap hooks.
Do I need a matching J Hook to hang them off, like seen in https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SECURE-H...NGING-KIT-HOOKS-HANGERS-FITTINGS/202365546486 or can I just hang it off screws?
If either is suitable, what size plugs should I be using? Brown Rawl plugs?

You can hang it off screws, but it’s easier to run some string between the two hangers on each side and use a single fixing. Standard brown plugs will be fine in brick.

The mirror specifically states not to use wire/string, it already has D hooks on either side.
Interesting it tells me what not to do, but not what to actually do!

I always hang using string and much heavier than your mirror. Can’t think why it says not to use it provided the string is rated for its weight, but if you don’t want to use it the it’s simply a case of measuring and drilling holes for each D ring so the mirror fits into place and perfectly level.

Yeah, I have measured holes for the D rings - and was just going to hang the mirror off them but when I went to check what plugs I should be using I found mounting kits with J hooks.

Use regular rawl plugs along with screws with a nice chunky heads, I've got mirrors and pictures in some heavy frames hung using these.

I’ve just hung a ~20kg mirror into brick, it has 2 loops on the back of it

2 large self tapping concrete screws put into 6mm pilot holes did it

They are rated for ~50kg each al no issues there
