And if so, where did you do it? Enjoy it?

I decided at like 3am when i couldn't sleep that i would love to do it. :o

Did a bit of research and it looks like Cancun in Mexico could be fun - plus its on my list to visit anyways.

It looks "fun" I suppose....

But I think I read recently that this sort of practise is coming under more and more criticism over the use of baits to lure the sharks in and the fact that this is beginning to happen on a large scale, particularly in South Africa. I can't argue the case more than that as I can't recall the facts....but its something along those lines.

I think the other side of the argument is the benefit in ecotourism and potential conservation/awareness for shark protection.

I did it in Cape town, it was so so cold and cloudy I was just constantly throwing up. I saw the shark right next to me, was pretty cool but I was so cold I didn't care lol. Would like to do it again and see great whites in clear water, we saw different sharks because the great whites got scared away by the killer whales.

If you get the chance go for it.

I went diving with Bull sharks (no cage) in Playa Del Carman just south of Cancun. They only took Advanced Open Water divers, it was amazing! The right time of year in Cancun you'll get Loads of Whale Sharks and Manta Ray, I think it's in the Spring.

If I ever get out to South Africa or South Australia, I'll look at cage diving with the White sharks.

Edit.. found a photo!

I don't see the appeal, personally. You can scare yourself quite well by riding a rollercoaster, watching a movie etc. without needing to provoke wild animals and/or put yourself in potential life-threatening situations. I've done a skydive but felt that the safety of that is in somebody's (good) hands whereas with the wild animals who really knows what could happen.

Did it many years ago before the world became responsible and stopped the feeding while you was in a cage etc.

Bored after 5mins, much better off going on a 40min reef dive.

You go inside the cage?

Cage goes in the water, you go in the water.

Shark's in the water.

Our shark.

I’ve done it in Cape Town as well. Sadly it was towards the end of the season so the visibility under the water was close to zero so in the cage we saw pretty much nothing. However we did have a few great whites come along side the boat, one was around 4m long. Certainly impressive stuff! I recommend it but try and pick the right time of year.

Throwing bait in is bad practice. It is suggested that is why that US girl in Caribbean was attacked by three sharks recently. It alters their natural behaviour, and arguably makes attacks more likely.
