Gigabyte missing cable issue - Aorus 15 X9 Laptop

Hi @Monty007 there was no name etc on the cable or part number. It looks very much like a hp sata cable (which i bought off ebay but it didn't work). Giga support took about 4 days to respond after i opened a case on their support portal. They advised me to email [email protected] which i did. I just stated what model of laptop it was and sent a pic of the the cable i was missing (the last pic i posted on this thread) they wanted some details like proof of purchase etc and then they sent me a cable which arrived 2 days later.

I have jumped right to the email address. They have replied requesting a serial number.

With only a SSD the machine isn't much use.
Cant wait to get it up an running.

How on earth did you get the back of the laptop off?

I have removed the 10 screws from the back and its sold wont move, I dont want to force the case and break.
Cant find a single video or manual to assist!

Found the bugger cheers.

There is absolutely no manual for this and I am an PC savvy so having a nightmare.

I have a sshd a bag of tiny screw a bag plastic strip and and metal one.

With no idea, wish me luck.

plastic strip goes on the side of the motherboard. the metal strip goes on the otherside. The clip that the sata cable goes into (on the motherboard) flips up. Push the cable in until the tabs are flush with it and then push the flap back down on top. If you look at my pics at the start of this thread there is one with the hdd connected and you can see where the plastic strip and metal strip go. i would reccomend just removing the power cable from the battery..its easy to pull out and push in again...good luck

Thanks I have figured it out with your help and photos. Rang mendit today the person dealing with my query is off today but they will identify the cable and send / bill me for it tomorrow.

I am getting the drive in place now but have a proper with the LED wire it appears oversized and was over lapping into the caddy.

It wont fit into the narrow cable grooves at the side very fiddly.

God know what I would have done without this thread and the advice on it.

On the up side if I want to fit another m.2 drive that looks easy now.

Cheers and thanks for posting.

How are you getting on with your machine?

look where the led connector is on the otherside..move the led connector on the side of the hdd out the way.once hdd is fitted the connector slots in the side like it does on the other side...refer to that pic at the start of this thread again..trust me it does fit

oh and its not really worth fitting the hdd as you will need to take it all out again when you need to fit the sata cable..it pushes into the back of the hdd (unless you are just seeing where it all goes.

Its a great machine. However it does sound like a boeing 747 taking off when playing cod..so not allowed to play it when eastenders is on or i get slapped by the missus :-)

Great got it in. Cheers.

Yep it loud but I play with head phones on. The noise makes the wife leave the room so all good.

But what a machine. Amazing, just hope the isn't a black Friday price drop.
