*** BLACK FRIDAY DEALS FROM PALIT (NVIDIA) ARE HERE ON RTX 2060, 2070 & 2070 SUPER!!!

Loving the arbitrary when Black Friday is, given the American origins, and that it always falls the Fiiday after Thanksgiving we can certainly say this is a 'Pre-Black Friday offer' since Thanksgiving is on the 28th this year. Denying that is basically saying you think it is worthless, right?

We do it every year, so I shall continuing cheapening Black Friday.

I also do it because on Black Friday many of these deals can be gone in minutes, we go early and post exclusively to the forum first, so it gives the members here sometime to think a deal over without the need to rush and impulse buy at fear of selling out.
Important to remember I think and agree. It's great that forum members get the first look in on these deals.

Buy a 2080S or wait for the 3000 series. :o

I think I'm waiting.

---

I mean... the RT performance is not great with these cards. So I dont yet see the point.

Oh... and I dont think the 2080S is worth £200 more than a 2070S.

I'm in the same position and feel the same, current gen would be nice but it doesn't feel a good "future proof" bet.

It really is not worth the extra. £100 maybe.

Buying now will either lead to buyers remorce or if money is easy come easy go then you will want to upgrade again in 6 months when cards with much beefier RT performance comes out.

When we look at these latest games like Control and RDR2, you can clearly see that they do indeed require a 2080ti even at 1440p. But the price for entry at this level is ridiculous. Hence the need to wait for the next gen.

I'll pay £700 for a 2080ti level card with improved RT perf.

Still ridiculous pricing tho... I thought £450 was a lot when I bought my 1080. :o

Has anything been said about the RT performance of next gen?

Here's where I get confused with new graphics cards. Take those first two 2070Ss listed. How am I supposed to pick between them? Stats are identical, both dual fans. Is it purely an aesthetic choice? Or am I supposed to know which one cools better or is quieter?

Edit: I tell a lie. One has a higher 'boost clock'. I have no idea what that means, but as in all walks of life, bigger number = better, right? :D

Further edit: Or is boost clock only relevant to overclocking, which I don't intend to do?

Also as some people seem to think the 2070 has no backplate, this model infact does have a backplate:

Rumour is it will be a lot better.

But I have been saying this for a long time. In my opinion it is obvious the RT performance will be a lot better. The 2000 series was just simple demo tech. We will get big gains going forward every gen.

Big gains and big prices no doubt.

Enjoy it, but you're cheapening black friday.

Thought I would make my first post in this section in quite some time just to express my amazement that somebody would think that the concept of 'black friday', the celebration of unfettered consumerism could be made to be any cheaper than it already is.
