I am looking to build a new PC for gaming but i am also need it for making adobe after effects videos would a gaming PC be adequate for both, i am a total newbie, also what is best to go for to do this PC or Mac and which OS is best?

I don't see why not mate. The 3700x and 32gb RAM would probably work quite well for both. Chuck in a decent GPU and you're all set :)

I use after effects for a living. PC hardware definitely best. Intel CPUs work best still, fast clock speed better than multiple cores for AE. Look at pugetsystems recommended systems for AE.

However I prefer working in osx and don't mind a speed hit because the os os nicer to use. I use an i7 27" iMac at work and it's good (the screen is beautiful).

Mac phrrrr wash your mouth out with soap.

I do Adobe Premiere stuff and sometimes After Effecs, a decent minimum of a quad core cpu and 16gb of RAM - more RAM the better. Dont need a fast GPU to be honest just a modest one but a gaming PC is ideal providing you have the RAM.
