Hey All, I'm looking to finally get my car remapped, and I've narrowed it down to two, but i just want peoples opinions on the sample graphs they provide as to which one would provide the best drive-ability (not fussed about peak power). Thanks

Collins Performance - https://i.imgur.com/2s3uTqC.jpg

Just to add to this, i'm edging towards the Collins Performance map as the power band looks a lot more linear, but it does seem to drop off sooner in the rev range.

Not that anyone could do too much harm I wouldn't have thought, but your name and car registration (I assume) is showing on one of those charts.

Go to someone that is reputable and you know does a good job in remapping.

Maybe it has changed now but bluefin used to be a product that they send out to you to upload yourself, has that changed now?

If it were my money, go for someone with a good reputation and a map done with care, on a rolling road or similar :)

I'll never understand 'performance' remaps on diesels.

Why?

My old A3 was taken from 170 to 202bhp, with a healthy gain in torque to around 500nm. While dpf/egr were all left as standard, I gained fuel economy and it transformed the car from what was decent for a diesel to something that could really fly for what it was.

I can't see any significant advantages it really offers over petrol vs a lot of disadvantages. My previous car was a 320hp twin turbo diesel. My current car is a 320hp NA petrol. The petrol sounds infinitely better. The performance feels so much better. There's not a million miles between lifetime fuel consumption averages for me (diesel was 37, petrol is 29). The petrol engine has no DPF, no EGR and no ULEZ restrictions. Basically if you want performance - buy a petrol. If you want to tow something or millions of mpgs buy a diesel.
Plus petrol smells awessssome.

Doh!

Do ford do their own remap?

I got my Volvo S60 remapped by Volvo themselves, official polestar remap doesn't void any warranty.

It was expensive as **** though.

Ford use Mountune for their tuning packages but it's mostly for the STs and RSs. You keep the full manufacturer warranty.

Mountune offer a performance tune option for the MK3 ST Diesel

Not warranty backed though

Remember as well that all that diesel power is available for 1,000 revs then it drops off a cliff:D (as shown in those graphs).

Used dtuk boxes before. Work well. Power increase was noticeable, but even better was, once you find the perfect setting, how smooth the power delivery is.

That's correct, Bluefin sends you a handset as does the other tuner. I want a map that i can upload and unload when needed, then i would probably get a full custom remap a few years down the line when the warranty is up on my car.
