Got to agree. It's just bloody marketing. As long as prices are cheaper I could not give a rats arse...So besmirched or belittled, fake holiday, excuse for a sale …...who really cares, products are cheaper.

I'm not from the UK, I'm from that part of the world where it all started, I know its history. It's a tradition thats been going on for roughly 60 years. No-one said its sacred, but its a tradition that gets everyone excited and it was ours until people from the UK decided they wanted a slice of that pie and ruined the **** out of it.
The UK has besmirched it as you put it, pulling it back weeks before it starts has besmirched the hell out of it. Steady rising prices and dropping to normal levels on the day has besmirched it, the fact you belittle the tradition from other countries has besmirched it. The fact I had to read your post besmirched my eyes.
+1HAHAHA you are having a laugh aren't you? It's not a tradition or anything to be proud of, it's just another way for Retailers to get money from the consumers. That's all it has been since the 80's. And have you forgotten that it was Amazon who introduced this into the UK? And it was American retailers who started opening on Thanksgiving day to get more money, it was American Etailers who started doing online deals before Black Friday, and it was also an American marketing company who came up with Cyber Monday to get more money out of people.
There is nothing to Besmirch. That you think the UK somehow stole it and ruined it is hilarious. It's just a day to milk the consumer to get them to buy stuff that they might not normally buy.
The prices are based on market share. Higher share = higher prices.

+1
What do you expect from a guy who says he refuses to buy AMD even if it the card is better in every way than an Nvidia card and is cheaper. Lol.
It's a strange thing to get worked up over, a store selling stuff cheaper now instead of on the 29th of November.Got to agree. It's just bloody marketing. As long as prices are cheaper I could not give a rats arse...
You can always wait or straight up ask Gibbo if concerned.I agree in principal, but there is the fact that you can buy cards, especially the 2070S for very similar prices already, and they don't claim to be a special deal
So what do you do if you fall for the marketing trap? Buy one now, but don't open it and return within the 14 days when they are cheaper on actual Black Friday?
Let me make it clear, these are our BLACK FRIDAY deals on the above cards, I promise you they will not get cheaper on OcUK and if they did get cheaper before November 30th 2019 then we shall refund you the difference.
AMD owns AAA gaming though.Er no, AMD have hardly a share now (if any at all)
Oh noes... AMD fanboys will be coming after you hard for saying thatAMD are taking us for mugs just as every bit Nv does and will continue doing so until the bubble bursts when next gen console releases.

Er no, AMD have hardly a share now (if any at all), yet they are charging the same prices as Nvidia.
Its, if they can charge that much, then we can too.
They can't even use the excuse of being high priced, because of HBM2![]()

We only did it right the first year we had it in the UK. There were some nice deals then. Some people even started fighting over them in super markets. Lol.Me too, Atlanta originally. The UK don't do it properly, prices that are already inflated just get brought down slightly below MSRP, the states you actually see proper bargains.

That's why when I see these deals in this thread, it's like meh...
It would be a very bad business move for AMD to undercut Nvidia by hundreds of pounds because they would loose money. AMD only make 41% on each card because they're shifting lower volumes.
Nvidia have the power to set the baseline price then AMD just has to undercut them by a tiny amount.
If the current gen was priced more like the Pascal, AMD would still have to undercut them. So the price of both manufacturers is dictated by Nvidia in a way. AMD are unable to charge more than Nvidia because they don't have the market or mindshare.
Jensen is a very good businessman and knows exactly what he's doing.

Not so far but it's still early days!Oh noes... AMD fanboys will be coming after you hard for saying that![]()
