I appreciate this is an odd request but here goes. My girlfriends mate has had an uncomfortable break with her ex. Basically she lent him a couple of grand to buy a PC with overclockers. They have now split and she managed to get the PC out of the house the day before he moved out. She has finally decided she wants to sell it if possible. I have told her she won't get anywhere near the price she paid for it.

I want to help her recoup some cash as she is a little messed up from the break up. I think it will be best sold individually? I guess my question to the forum and also the mods is if I list the kit can somebody help me put realistic prices to the items? Or would it be best trying to flog it as a whole as it could make a nice system for somebody (again maybe put a price on it). I have all the specs but wanted to ask before I just dump it on here. Sadly I'm not on members market. I can get the receipt from her to prove it isn't stolen or anything silly like that. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Prices for items cannot be given here. There is a Members Market for this kind of this, which you won't have access too.
You'd also be lucky to get back what you paid for it.
Why can't he pay her back the money owed?

Yeah I'm aware she won't get the money she paid out for it. As is the party involved. Not for me to detail on a public forum why she can't get the money back really mate. But it wasn't an amicable split so I offered to help her shift it.

Best thing you can do is write down the individual components and then go and look at the average price that they have sold for on Ebay, do the same for the whole system if there are any comparable ones. I would then try and sell the pc as a complete system on Gumtree but make sure it is all working properly first and only take cash on collection. Do not take Paypal or do delivery!!

Ha doing that at the moment mate! I'm hankering for a complete system overhaul myself and tempted to help her out but this was purchased in 2016 so I want newer tech. I do think it would be a great system for someone especially with Christmas coming. I will no doubt go around and format the system (if it is to be sold as a complete system).

Thanks for your input pastymuncher.
