Hey, I need advice on a new Gaming pc for my nephew.

He has a £1000 budget and is starting from scratch so he will need everything from the pc to monitor.

I know he wants to play rainbow six siege, over watch, team fortress etc.

Could you help with spec?

Thanks in advance.

To be honest we haven’t discussed it yet, I would want him to build it because i built mine a few years ago and i enjoyed it.

Spec both please if possible and I can give him the options.

Well, the thing about doing it himself if you'd get more for your money. A pre-built would incur costs from OcUK to build before shipping it out.

It'd also be good experience and is just like digital lego lol

I know, I loved it when I built mine.

Just advise parts then and if it comes to it I will build it for him.

Only thing though I’m not sure if he wants rgb lights and all that stuff. I’m not to keen on it but he may like it.

Thanks for that, it looks great. I’ll need to Add and OS, monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Hopefully with Black Friday coming up there’s some deals.

Download Windows Creation Tool from Microsofts website onto a USB and then buy a cheap key like mentioned

@snips86x I was about to say Where's the monitor :p great component choice though

  • Slower RAM (but you won't notice it)
  • Slower GPU
  • Monitor added
Should be perfect for 1080p

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £960.45 (includes shipping: £19.62)

I made further adjustments:
  • Smaller SSD (probably won't be a massive issue though)
  • gsync/freesync monitor
  • 1660 super (perfect for 1080p)
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £997.75 (includes shipping: £0.00)

Thanks for this, I really appreciate your time on this. I’m calling with him on Sunday to show him all this and let him make his decision on what he wants.

Congratulations, I hope you realise this lad will not see the light of day once he has this up and running lol

The good thing with the newer Ryzen CPUs is the fact that you can get away with running 3000mhz RAM or above where as the older Gen stuff seemed to want 3600mhz to get the best performance

It's always dark atm anyway so don't blame him to much lol

Lol. I’m just happy that he’s actually getting a gaming pc.

I had a quick chat with him there and send him screen shots, he’s happy to do it himself.

This has given me the itch to upgrade mine now lol

Thanks for your help on this.
