If he was non compliant with staying down they wouldn't know if he had other weapons on him and was in close proximity to those that had been restraining him.

Really?

It all depends on what the bloke was armed with. What if he had a gun, a bomb, a detonator etc? You cant see very clearly from the video. What if he literally would not stop stabbing the next person he approached etc?

Guess it all depends if he’s still trying to stab people on the floor. Looks like they Tase him at the same time as shooting. If he’s still posing a threat somehow then I’m all for him getting put down.

He wasn't pinned down at the time they shot him, the video is on twitter, he is on the floor with (presumably) a member of the public on top of him... its once they have separated the person who is on top of him from him that they shoot him... he was still on the floor when they shot him too but no longer pinned down.

The guy had plenty of opportunity to surrender whatever weapon he had on him... they were screaming at him/trying to separate the member of the public etc...
 
I can't see the Police had much of a choice really. The guy makes a move to get up so they smoke him.

Job done. Commendations all round.

not a good idea to post or embed it here - but you look at a profile belonging to @ColinMichael and see one of his tweets - or rather a few of his tweets and re-tweets - has up close footage, footage from a building and footage from a nearby bus.

Social media is a bit mental at times... breaking news story and you can see the scumbag being shot dead from three different camera angles.

Yeh, if you have armed police surrounding you telling you to stay on the ground and not move...moving is not a clever thing to do.

Especially if you just went on a stabbing spree.
 
I've seen 3 videos from different angles. In one of the videos there is a member of public walking back across the bridge with a knife in his hand. Presumably he's just walked away to get the knife away from the stabber

It looks to me like the man in the long coat who walks away is holding the knife, though? So unless he has a second, the guy's unarmed when shot...
