Why do people have to attack her appearance? Really if you disagree with her abilities or beliefs, that's fine, but to start debasing it by calling her ugly, or questioning why anyone would have sex with her (especially demeaning), it's rather disgusting behaviour and entirely contradictory to the criticism that she's got little to no morals.

You can be frustrated with illiberals all you want, there is no need to devolve to that level.

Ironic hypocritical post is ironic. You've mocked Donald Trump and Boris Johnson's appearance on a huge number of occasions.

You see it all over the press too. They have no issues with personal attacks on Trump, but someone says a bad word about Abbot and they get virtue signalled to death.

Discussion about a politician and prospective future home Secretary trying to hush up a familial police assault charge on a public forum is toxic now is it?

Some class a hypocrites in this thread who at best would ignore the story if it was about a Tory in a similar position and in many cases would be only to willing to lead the discussion.

Why don't you take your tacit suggestion for authoritarian censorship of opinions and facts you don't like out of this thread and go somewhere else?

So you think that the thread title is not a click bait attention seeking irrelevance relative to the story?

On the road....
Let's not turn this into another Diane Abbott joke/insult thread please guys, it's been done to death.
True but not helped by her being an open goal for ridicule, insults not necessary imo but when your a joke your going to have fun made of you.

It just worries me that she could (theoretically) be the Home Secretary a week tomorrow, I’m guessing this is her sons planned get out of jail card?

We have a long history of treating politicians with an attitude of irreverence when they are deserving of said attitude. GD is full of threads that include some degree of satire and/ or joviality about the often serious matters under discussion.

Let's not pretend that calling this particular thread toxic is anything but a partisan action on your part.

It was after all rather trivial for me to find an example of you using some rather 'locker room' style denigration of someone else who doesn't agree with your political sensibilities in GD....

'Like a clown's pocket' is something I expect to see mentioned over the next few months.

For clarity I don't like the person you were talking about, don't generally support a lot of their political positions and activism and have been critical of these on the forums.

The point is that you are apparently willing to engage in quite crude and abusive talk in GD when it suits but yet start clutching your metaphorical pearls when it's someone who might be more aligned with your personal poltics.

The fact her kid acted terribly is one thing, can't really write her off for that.

The fact she used her position and influence and tried to hide it, less so.

The fact she put her child through private school because a state school was not up to the job, and now wants to push through laws that effectively try to kill the private school sector is damning to the highest order.

It's almost an equivalent of trying to improve the NHS by abolishing private health provision. Private healthcare takes a massive load off the NHS by removing the burden to care for a significant part of the population.

Like lot of Labour nonsense, it does not stack up, is hypocritical, and will almost certainly not improve the system they intend to target.

Madness. Total madness from the Red Comrades.

Careful, you know you're not allowed to criticise the Left in any way. Spew bile over those to the Right, harass them outside Parliament or even in the case of Rees Mogg outside their own houses, but don't ever criticise the heroic Left. Thats simply not allowed.

i'm mildly surprised no-one has cried "Racist!" over this yet.

It kind of disproves the whole thing about it being poor kids with state education who go on to be involved in gangs though. He had a privileged upbringing and still turned in to a scumbag.

Its certainly been implied...

Retreat to imaginary safe space pub, black people are being uppity!

Commentary about a black MP, with a long history of hypocrisy and making some collosal gaffes, apparently trying to surpress news coverage of a familial charge for police assault by biting is just forum members accusing thoose blacks up being darn uppity....

Ask yourself what they would say if it was white male conservative MP doing the same?

Lots of them would be all over it....
