Hi,

I'm wanting to put together a simple secondary system for old titles and some general use, a kind of back up system if you will. This doesn't have to be powerful at all but if a better component makes sense in terms of VFM then all well and good. It will be a Windows 7 build (for older game compatibility with mods) so, AFAIK, that excludes the Ryzen 3000 series (apart from the 3200g & 3400g)? I'm thinking maybe a micro or mini-ATX is the way to go?

No strict budget as such, just the main unit is what I require, so CPU / mobo / GPU / ram / PSU / SSD, and case.

What do you think of this build? Only a quick first attempt but it's a starting point.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £661.05 (includes shipping: £13.20)

I'd swap the RAM out for cheaper such as the above and spend the difference on the RX590 since it's only £155 at the moment. At that price (£130) the RX570 is a pretty poor buy imo, I got a brand new RX580 8GB for £120 a few months back. Sabrent drives are on sale at the rainforest website atm also, NvME 1TB for £88.

Edit: Just realised this was a thread necro, and the comment left by the prior poster isn't even correct. Odd.
