Aaargh need help replacing something

Well it's got to be worth a shot... while we were out yesterday our cat climbed on the kitchen work surface and smashed a cup that was very important to the wife for sentimental reasons.

It's a John Lewis 2017 Christmas Moz cup and although I love her dearly I think the £45 Ebay price is a little steep for a cup.

I don't suppose anyone has one that doesn't mean anything to them that I could buy as a Christmas gift?

this would be my thoughts too. if the cup itself has sentimental value then replacing it will hardly replace the sentimen. repairing the cup with a bit of super glue, i would have thought, would retain that value.

Sentimental or not... if it was a used cup eventually it was going to get damaged and/or broken.

Probably not that sentimental.

This is what I would do as well if it was really sentimental.

Tell her it's broken, she'll feel sad.
Have it repaired as a Christmas gift
She'll be really happy.

Pay the price (£45) though it won't be the same, or repair it and use it as a pen holder as I doubt you'd be able to trust it with hot drinks. I've certainly had no luck in the past with repaired cups.

If the cup is precious for sentimental reasons then this is probably what I would do. A few cracks will add to the cup's story and character and will mean more in the future than a freshly bought replacement.
