MSI AMD X370 Gaming Pro Mobo

Hi Guys,

i'm looking at buying a "MSI AMD X370 Gaming Pro Mobo". The person before was using a Ryzen 7 2600 before.

Will a Ryzen 5 3600 work straight away or will it need a bios update? Pain if it does as ile have to buy an older Ryzen CPU to just update the bios.

Depends on the BIOS version but looks like you could be in luck - check here https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X370-GAMING-PRO#support-cpu - looks like as long as the BIOS is on version 7A33v4I then it'll work. If not then you know what you need to do

Think for the £40 extra I'm going to get a brand new board which definitely supports 3rd Gen Ryzen out of the box

Latest bios on the board supports upto 3950x.

Thing is ide need an older ryzen to do the update before fitting the Ryzen 5 3600
