Hey guys,

Looking at the Gigabyte varients of these cards..which is the better card?

Im also bearing in mind the driver issues with the AMD cards, against the RTX..

I am a life time nvidia user but I would be buying the 5700xt if I wanted a gpu today. I would even buy it over a 2070.
 
Nvidia have their fair share of driver problems, so i wouldn't factor that into the equation.

That being said they are both similar performing cards and perform almost identically , in a few games the 5700xt is ahead in others the 2060s is ahead.

If anything i would sway towards the 2060s , Nvidia cards are still easier to overclock and tend to yield better results imho.
 
How long do you want to keep it for? Personally I'd weigh RTX & VRS & Mesh shaders more heavily long term than the raw power advantage of the 5700 XT. But if you really want the value option, I'd rather look at the 5700 in the first place. With a few tweaks you're more or less getting a 5700 XT for quite a bit cheaper.
 
The 5700xt is quicker in most things. It will get better as drivers mature (and nvidia gimping kicks in, in preparation for the 30 series :p).

The 5700xt is closer to a 2070s than a 2060s and they cost the same.
 
2070 is better than 2060 Super and roughly same money and 5700 XT is also better than 2060 Super.

In short 2060 Super is a bad buy as for same money you can get better cards from NVIDIA themselves and AMD.

The 5700XT competes with the 2070S, while the 2070S is a little faster it's not a huge margin.

The 2060S shouldn't even be a consideration when you can get a 5700XT for the same price.

5700XT. There are no drivers issues if you clean up your system from previous drivers using DDU in safe mode and install latest 19.12.3.

6 months now with the 5700XT AE not a single problem. However I have DP1.3 HBR3 rated cable, not some cheap crap, have kept my system clean and I do not blame the GPU if my ram or CPU overclocks crashed

Got a 5700XT recently and it's perfect so far with none of the apparent driver issues showing up except one which was Starcraft 2 stuttering/gpu downclocking. That was caused by Radeon anti-lag and easily fixed by disabling the option. I'd recommend it over the 2060S since the performance is very close to the 2070S for a lower price.

Yeah. I haven't even watercool it yet, even if the block is received back in August. Haven't found the need yet!!!

Thats first card on air since the 1080Ti Xtreme over 2y ago and the second since the GTX780 back in 2013!!!!!!

(Ahh yeah I am AMD fanboy to some, with all these Nvidia & Intel products all those years). :D

I thought the 5700 did VRS?
