Any noticeable difference between this one, the R7 and R8 types?
In terms of tech / build quality / (BT or Ant+) connectivity? I was just about to pay for a R7000 version but if this does the same then I'll get a cheaper one.

Power tech exactly the same as far as I'm aware, you simply pay a lot of extra money for higher model left cranks that save tiny amounts of weight as you go up the hierachy.

I grabbed one of these ~20 months ago after getting a taste for power readings on my Direto turbo, sadly I paid ~£340 and I didn't have the patience to wait for a deal!

You'll want to do an FTP test for any of the IF and TSS numbers to make any sense (if they're important to you at all that is)

Welcome to the dark side of power! It's addictive!

I've done FTP/4DP tests purely on virtual power, but will certainly do a proper test now. My legs are sore from running 5 miles on NYD, so perhaps Tuesday night with either a steady ride or turbo session on Sunday morning to spin the legs but not empty the tank.

Only branding... I'm actually using an Ultegra 6800 arm on my R8000 crankset... Dare you to be able to tell the difference! :D:cool:

I actually think 4iiii missed a 'trick', as there's no plain black arm, but then they can charge more for the same tech in Ultegra/DA arms over the 105... Either that or have one branded plain Shimano/or even 4iiii that's cheaper. I'm sure they'd have sold a bundle being 'unbranded' (non-shimano) and been able to undercut Stages much more & earlier. Truth is now - they've cornered much of Stages' previous market over the last 12 months and deservedly so.

Actually ordered before Christmas and have managed a couple of turbo sessions on them. Super service from Cyclepowermeters.com
Really like CPM. Dealt with them warranty repair/replacement on my Powertap C1 and it was a breeze. Actually felt like they did me a 'deal' (2 weeks before warranty was up and they replaced with new, rather than repairing/servicing).

Does the current Sufferfest now use IF/TSS etc correctly? I'm actually considering making the 'switch' to TrainingPeaks this year/season/spring so will be using metrics like them more to help my training & volumes.

Any New Years deals on TP, or coming up? I have a free account currently, but would happily remove it and start again if there's a good 'new user introduction' type bargain. The price of TP is what's put me off before, but I've cut down a couple of other subs the last few months and will also dump Strava Summit to justify it.

I ordered one of those 4iiii earlier this morning with discount code VCUK10 for an extra £20 off. Not completely convinced it will fit my Cube as I didn't have access to a printer to print off the compatibility thing but fingers crossed... It's the only bike I've got 172.5mm cranks on.

I kind of have an option of a cheap Giant Power Pro in 165mm flavour open to me... but I'm not too sure if I will be compatible with such short cranks.

I've only really ordered the power meter out of data geekiness / mild curiosity. I should imagine I'll pretty much ignore the numbers most of the time, in the same way I mostly ignore HR.

What length do you normally ride? Generally find lots of 4iiii/Stages in 170mm so you would find a S/H smaller well within that budget if you'd prefer...

You won't ignore the numbers as they will be BIG coming from you! :D

And mate, that Halfords light arrived, but it's a damn FRONT and not a rear! Order & everything was for a Rear... Going to see if they'll swap it for a Rear in store as I doubt if I return it the ebay route they'll honour it, they'll just refund. They're £34 from store! :o

Hope you've continued to feel better buddy! What the hell is an official Sticky bottle?! :o

Busy night! How many hours for that? On the MTB still?

Awesome price! Really happy with my 4iiii!

We have all missed your quotation spam mate.

That night was two and half hour ride time, maybe a 3 or nearly 4 hour shift. Ended up £62 but got £2 extra per delivery I didn't know about so £78 for that shift.

Managed to do 32 miles 3 hours riding a few nights later. £64 for that too and no idea of any bonuses until I get the statement through.

Road wise I did manage to get out with a bunch and keep up fine so I'm where I want to be :D

I have that 4iiii in the basket for £185 and wondering if I should stick it on the CC or just do that 4 equal payments thing. Such a deal.

FWIW I ran the same 4iiii left side crank pwm on my previous bike - it was a dream, no bother from it whatsoever and pretty damn accurate data too.

New Bahrain kit looks superb with the bike colours too - https://www.strava.com/activities/2973141226

Fasted Ride from Harry Tanfield. Speed and power figures we'd mostly be happy with at full fitness... :o

Haha I returned with a nice epic one for you! ;)

Ahhh, nice bonus surprise, with hopefully another to come! Just think, 3 JustEat nights like that and you can justify the 4iiii... ;)

Yup mine has been rock solid, thanks @JonB!

The Cube has 172.5mm so I'm most used to riding that (over 40k miles now!) but I do have two other bikes with 170mm. Honestly I don't notice a difference between the two but I feel like a 7.5mm jump could be huge.

I prefer new for the perceived sense of warranty... Not sure on PBK being all that good with it but fingers crossed it's all OK anyway. I did check for other retailers first but none that price match.

Oh wow, that sucks a bit. You'll be glad to know my light seemed to survive fine after drying out. It took a fair effort to get the button in the right place (and it's not perfect) but it's working again now. Perhaps if I get bored I'll try replace the battery but for the moment it's functional!

(For everyone else's benefit - I managed to kill my Exposure TraceR rear light after a wet ride. I could see some water inside it and @Roady being a kind soul figured out with his light how to tear it apart and dry it out. Pretty simple really - unscrew the lens from the body with a tight hand grip and then carefully pull the innards out of the shell. It looks remarkably simple inside.)

Haha, forgot to tell any of the story here. Saw on Chris' Strava about his problem and knew he had a TraceR. I've got multiple Trace & TraceR's and had noted the lens had a differing gap to the shell on many of them. I figured it was pressed or screwed in, just had never attempted to get one apart. I selected my light with the biggest gap and it turned easily! Took a few pics and sent them his way. Also took a new rear TraceR apart just to confirm they're the same inside.

For anyone interested I can supply pics. The battery looks replaceable with some basic soldering skills...

Nice! That's for that. I've just ordered one.
Saved be a hundred or so, as I was going to order one of the new R7000's.

Ah good shout, any ideas what kind of battery it is? I’m having to charge mine every couple of days now.

Gents, some urgent assistance if you can, I need a new BB for my Canyon Inflite, it is currently a 4130 PF job, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Any ideas or can anyone use their google skills better than me? Cranks are Rotor 3D+.

Edit - Sort of ignore the above, but think I found them on Rotor website, but only 35 euros for Ceramic version seems cheap! This the right one?

Some sort of 16340 700mAh. Here's the photo @Roady sent me the other day.

Looks like a pricing error on rotor's site as other sites have it at least double the price.

Also, what does hybrid ceramic mean? I guess it's a lot less Ceramic than CeramicSpeed's offering?

we all said that at the beginning ;)

when you see the watts on your computer you’ll become obsessed like the rest of us!

It happens to us all. I am a bit of a numbers geek and loved that I got to make a spreadsheet for keeping track of my JustEat earnings.

I did get rid of a power wheel as it was taking over a bit too much.

Even on the 31st December I went a pedal and a pint with a mate and he was doing some 250w for 1 minute then so many minutes at 220w. Every drag we he would be backing right off to keep the numbers low, gets a bit annoying really.

I'll see where I'm at new bike wise this year and aim to get power as it really does help when training properly.

Hah. That reminds me I was out with a mate the other week and he was on a strict 200w limit besides 4x2min efforts. I got a bit fed up of accidentally losing him when he was on my wheel so I set my Garmin to find power meters and picked up his signal too. It was still difficult to keep him behind but made it a bit more interesting. I knew when it went out of range he was definitely way behind :D

I'm still quite unlikely to do any proper training. I just tend to enjoy the ride.
