Surprised there isn't a thread about this. I have been hunting for my next monitor as I have a feeling my current IPS QHD is on its way out. The LG 27GL850-B (excellent features but nearer £450) but it's hard to find stock though OcUK should be getting more units mid-January. Then the ViewSonic Elite XG270QC but on paper it seems that the LG is better specced for a similar price. There is also the Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ which some reviews are saying it's pretty decent especially the ELMB SYNC feature - I have forgotten why I wasn't leaning towards this :o:p. I don't mind paying ~£450 but the ViewSonic VX2758-2KP is £300 and still has a good feature list. Hardware Unboxed have reviewed it (stolen from this thread - thanks @tamzzy). The design is a little industrial but I don't mind it, forgoes all of the usual gaming crap and Christmas tree lighting.

We've been chatting about it here: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/27-144hz-1440p-suggestions.18874541/

It is decent yes, but similarly priced to the also absent LG27GL83A-B, which is better than the Viewsonic.

Not sure if I'd say that, the viewsonic is wide gamut whereas the LG is not, though the LG does have better response times and even then a lot of people probably wouldn't notice the difference.
So i'd say they are about on par with each other. Another great thing about the viewsonic is that you can actually buy it XD.

Can be currently had for £243 elsewhere....

Not a bad price at all for these panels.

Hard to say which one would be the best between the LG, benq, acer and viewsonic.

Just a shame contrast ratio is poor and still problems with bleed.

Makes you wonder how on earth are other monitors with lesser specs being sold for £500+, either that or what corners are being cut with this panel :o

As far as I can see it is not in stock anywhere in the UK, are you sure about this? I was also only able to find it at the preorder price of £281.

Contrast ratio is poor in all IPS monitors, this one being no exception.

The Hardware Unboxed video shows you why the LG is superior, granted they are comparing it to the 27GL850 but they are both the same panel. THe LG has also got a much better stand.

Where can you buy it? It is out of stock everywhere at the moment.

Apologies, got it mixed up with another monitor, same model number etc. just missing the P on the end.....

And yes, contrast ratio is poor on IPS, TN and even VA (well at least when compared to TVs, especially oled....) but this is even worse than a good amount of IPS, some of the best IPS panels can hit 1200/1300:1, 800/900:1 is considerably lower.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a 27GL83A-B over here for $360 AKA £275, free shipping. Decent price, but I'm not upgrading the rest of my system till summer...guess I should wait :(
