New phone £150-£180

For my 12 year old.

He's got a 2 year old Moto (something) E4??? - not sure it was about £120.

He wants a new phone for his Birthday, needs to be android, but otherwise not too fussed, Chinese phone/brand ok, usb c or regular micro usb, ideally if it can be purchased from Amazon sold by Amazon ideally as I've had a good experience with their warranty on a smartphone before.

My lad has just changed from a moto g5 to a p smart 2019 and he seems happy with it, spec seems fairly good for £150

It is out of stock though I'd rather buy it sold by Amazon at £130, his birthday is the 5th Jan so hopefully turn up before then.

Yeah, Mi A3 is a good option. I was quite impressed by the Samsung Galaxy A20e too, which is around £150.

So:

I ordered the Mi A3 from Amazon on the 26th Dec, it took the order and said it'll email when they have it in stock, its now the 2nd Jan and nothing.... it doesnt appear this is something you can easily check either.

His Birthday is the 5th Jan so kinda thinking I might need to cancel it and order a different one, I dont really want to pay £40 more to get it quicker through a seller.

Any other alternatives?

If not I'll go for the P-Smart linked above.

I don't think there's a UK version. They have them at the Xiaomi store in Westfield, you could go there seen as you're in London. I expect you'll pay a little over the odds though.

I'd love to know what you think of the screen. The phone would be a perfect upgrade for my girlfriend's Moto G5 but the 720p screen is putting me off.

I may have said it already, I thought it was a fantastic screen personally. I don't think most people could tell 720p from 1080p on something that small.

I would prefer to pay less... it is going on eBay for £140~... but I am thinking they might shipping from Asia or alike.

I got a mi3. And it isn't a bad little phone actually. If taking photo I would recommend installing the gcam mod. I find photos better
