i think i made a mistake on this build

Now that its sorted, I think best if we start at the beginning. How much are you looking to spend, what peripherals do you need and If you have a monitor, what resolution is it?
Then we can put together the best spec to suit your needs :)
 
Glad you got that cancelled! That was a heap of **** of a system... and only single-stick RAM according to the specs, surprised nobody picked up on that!

You will get SOOOOO much more for your money whether you build yourself or not, that rig was a rip-off.

I'd even offer to do the build for you if I'm anywhere near you, but I doubt that's the case as it never seems to happen...
EDIT reasonable train journey possible. I'd do a couple of hours' travel for train fare alone. Obvs if you're further from me than say, Birmingham then perhaps not... But the offer is there.

On this subject, you mentioned you were getting it for your son. It could be a fun project to build it together.
