What's the rest of your spec including power supply, ram and cpu and any existing gpu you have? Playing at 1080p? Does your monitor come with VRR (variable refresh rate tech like Gsync or Freesync)?
For 1080p you don't need to spend £300. I'd be looking at a Radeon RX590 or Nvidia 1660 super assuming the rest of your spec is up to the task.
Well £300 is a bit of an awkward price point. You could get a 5700XT for a little over that which would murder anything at 1080p. Other than that you've got the 2060 super from Nvidia but it's slower than the 5700XT. I'd spend my money on the 5700XT if I could afford it, or buy the 1660 super and save a few quid.
Just make sure you get a decent version if going with the 5700XT. The Powercolor Dual is probably the safest option for a cheaper 5700XT. Ones like the MSI Mech or any of the single fan blower ones should be avoided.
You might be able to get it cheaper if you shop around.
