After some advice and tips with my Conifers

Hi guys,

I planted some conifers in my back garden just under 2 years ago - the first photo is shortly after they were planted. The second photo is them now. They have grown considerably but the bottoms are brown. I want the bottoms to also grow and fill out. What is the best approach to tackle the bottoms? I am happy with the height of them now and don't need them to grow anymore.

Pinching out the apical buds far as I can remember from many years ago working for a landscaper
Encourages filling out lower down and stops/retards upward growth

You're welcome

It's basically a gentler way of doing it than constantly cutting them
Used on bonsai trees too I believe
