Hi,

So I got this card today and believe I should be setting a fan curve for it for the best noise/cooling combination. Does anybody have any recommended profiles to use - and, more importantly, how do I actually set it?

Thanks!

You can use MSI Afterburner to set up a custom fan curve. Just do it yourself. It's very simple and you can tune it exactly to your liking. Do keep in mind that you'll have to keep Afterburner running in the background for the custom curve to stay active though. If you close it, it'll revert to the one set in the card's BIOS.

Also, once you create your fan curve, you can double click on the graph to change it to stepped if you want, so the RPM doesn't change as often. Like so:

Handy info that Danny, wasn't aware of it. Nice one for that.

No worries, picked it up off someone else. It's unfortunate that Afterburner doesn't have an extensive guide somewhere as it's full of little useful stuff like that. Another is to select a point and hold shift + L when using the voltage/frequency editor, to lock voltage and frequency at that point, very handy when undervolting and/or overclocking.

I have the exact same card. Great one too.

This is my profile, its a little louder under load, but I use headphones when gaming anyways. Stays cool, around 28c-30c at idle / basic tasks!

I like to keep it cooler, and it peaks under full load around 67c-68c. Could be better but I dont want it any louder in my setup!
