Searching solutions for very low sound in "new" pc build

Previously, my mobo was an ASUS P8Z77-M, and i was using an ASUS Xonar DG sound card.

I got a "new" mobo, the ASUS PRIME B350-PLUS, but i can't use my Xonar because the PCI slot is blocked by the video card. So I'm using it's onboard card. U_U

Using the same headset, the Cooler Master MH751, the sound volume it's very low compared to before.

I configured all the volume controls that I know at 100%.

I can't decide what to do, because searching for opinions over the internet, most ppl say that o good external dac/amp would be miles better than any offboard card. And others say that offboard cards are better for gaming.

My focus is gaming btw...

not sure if asus has the same realtek dashboard as gigabyte...
set the headphone power to level 3 - basically a pseudo-amp

Unfortunately, I did not found any option or software like that for my Mobo. But thanks for the tip anyway.

did you install the realtek driver from asus or just used the basic windows driver?

Yes. I did.
After some search I found the Realtek software on Windows 10. But if fails to detect my headphone. It's being show as a Speaker. When I try to manually change to "Headphone", it shows a notification saying it's not a supported type.

it shouldn't matter i don't think... :confused:

mine are connected to speakers but it still allows me to boost the audio with the pseudo-amp

Can't remember which setting in
There made a big difference on my
Last Asus board though

I think this software works only on specific supported mobos. Can't find any reference to my board.

You may be right mine was asus z270-e
Would a pci~e riser cable allow you to use your sound card?

There's two PCI slots from what I can see. Can't you use the bottom one? Unless of course you have more than just one GPU.
