Photoshop Upgrade

Heh, I can't actually say I know what this mysterious forum is, but you know when someone says 'there's a secret room here, don't look'.........

Damn, sorry sat on this a bit and went to order and both the case and the power supply now appear to be out of stock.

I ordered a pre-noise dampened version of the Phanteeks case before Christmas and was delighted with it - do OCUK tend to to stock these occasionally or are they to order. Prefer to keep cases consistent if I can and was a fantastic case.

Also the superflower PSU appears out of stock - should I just wait until back in stock or are there equivalent ones, eg Seasonic etc

Perfect - thank you both! Big fan of Phanteks now!

Although that appears out of stock too! I might watch out for it - also I like the overclockers pre-noose dampened cases ideally, I don't know if OCUK do these to order or if just certain ones...

Out of interest, what's the A mean in the case? I saw another video and think it was the 400S?

at ocuk maybe. not elsewhere though :)

noise dampening wouldnt really work in this case, in this case. the only dampenable side is behind the mobo - a bit pointless really.
(see point below)

what's the A mean in the case?
A = airflow
instead of having a solid front, the front is now perforated so it serves to allow better airflow into the case

Right then guys, all the bits arrived this weekend and installed everything, tell you what - those m2 drives sure load blazingly fast, it just tears through everything (data transfers, installs, boots etc) - note old pc was a sata 7200 rpm disk, so it's jumping two generations really.

Question is I'm still getting a laggy mouse in places - which clearly can't be anything to do with the cpu (3600 Ryzen), ram (32gb Corsair), windows (fresh install) or disk (m2).

Do we really think that the 970 shouldn't struggle with four monitors (including one 4k)? I'm talking about just moving the mouse in windows, not under load.

Any ways I can diagnose this - ie test gpu load etc? Not a bit deal if I need to upgrade, just would like to know I'm fixing it!

Manually install AMD Chipset Driver (from AMD) and AMD Software (the graphics driver) in case you haven't done so.

Then change Windows' Power Plan to Ryzen Balanced.

Ta! Ok, will do.

Just checking AMD software graphics driver - do I need these even though I've got an Nvidia graphics card?

Ok, have done this, no change - not sure if Ryzen Balanced mode is recommended anymore (or at least very marginal benefits)

Starting to think it can only be the mouse or the monitor, will test the former tomorrow, if not may need to upgrade the latter... That said gpuz puts it about 10% utilised on memory and GPU at windows screen, so doesn't feel likely....

Heh no worries, just wondered if it was some sort of amd interface driver.

Have installed amd driver for CPU etc as per link, installed latest version of Nvidia drivers.

I am starting to wonder if the mouse might be related, so will swap that (seen a few posts about how 4k monitors and mice with too low scan rate can cause lag, so a reasonable hypothesis).... plus it's much easier than buying and swapping in a new graphics card...... ;)

Nope, all stock! Happened on the old pc also, hence upgrade - so limited common parts left (GPU, mouse, keyboard and monitors are the only obvious constants....)

odd...
was gonna blame an unstable infinity fabric...but now i can't :P

970 should drive 3 monitors no issues...
i'd agree with quartz and try a different mouse first
