What fad from your childhood/teenage years used to be "in" but now has vanished?

Tamagotchis
Pogs
Finger boards for a while

It's weird how these trends come and go, i remember those squishy goo like alien baby egg things and i'm sure they were around again about 10 years ago.

It's actually quite funny this, you can have a rough guess of someones age purely based on the toys they had as a kid.

Used to love my pogs!

A couple of others from memory:
- Yoyos (can't remember the brand name that were the best ones to get)
- Pez sweets (weird looking things, you can still get them in proper sweet shops)
- Pokemon cards / Premier league cards

The colouration was due to the amount of bone meal in the feed. Most feeds don't use bone meal or have greatly reduced it. But you can still get bone meal supplements to add to raw dog food diets.

You can then identify them as a BXY or Z :D There's a lot of Gen Y's on this forum.

Yo-yo's
Pokémon cards
Bowl hair cuts
Those Adidas tracksuit bottoms
Going outside to play

Born in 1990 so I'm a 90's kid.

This is sadly a thing of the past!
I still do it.

Tamogotchi! I loved those. Never really got into any of the other fads like yoyos

Another one... kids climbing trees. We used to be up them all the time. Not seen that at all recently.

Could well have been!

I do remember the sleeper, you had to master that before you could do any tricks:
- eiffel tower
- GB flag
- "walk the dog"
- "round the world" - if you were feeling brave!

Rock the cradle also. I could do quite a few. I forget most of the tricks though.

Coco Cola "Spinners" (yo yo's). Seen them be big twice over the years, once in the 80's and once in the early 90's.
Coke ran a tournament in my local supermarket to win a golden yo yo and it drew quite a big crowd. My mother thought that playing video games on a Saturday afternoon was a waste but going up the town to watch someone swing a piece of plastic on a string about was apparently worthwhile.

A few of my friends growing up lived on farms and had quite a lot of land with woods/forests on them. I remember as a kid going out into those woods for as long as there was daylight building 'Dens' and 'Forts'

Do kids still do that today?

We made a den in the woods near our house. It had traps. A hole in the ground covered by twigs and leaves and some traps that were heavy objects on string triggered by a tripwire.

The farmer came. Told us to get off his land. Then his dog set off a trap and a log landed next to its head haha
