so a mate has asked what 2nd hand pc to get for minecraft and internet, thats the only brief i have.

so is good option a Dell Optiplex 7010 i3 Mini Tower with 4gb ram 250gb ssd and windows 10 for £70 worthwhile, presume you could always upgrade the GPU to a basic GTX1050/1650 and another 4gb ram of need any games that need a gpu.

or any other models to look out for? HP or Lenovo?

You would probably want atleast an i5 CPU as i3 is only duel core and will struggle a bit. Would look at a used Gpu, an rx570 can be had for around 70 quid so long as the psu can handle it

there are a few with Core i5-3470 but i wouldnt put a GPU that needs psu connectors in any of them hence gtx1050 as it takes power from the pcie slot i think some RX560 do as well

updated the title.. I have a spare i7 920 with motherboard, either 12gb (3x4) or 9gb (3x2,3x1) of RAM, 120gb SSD, 500gb hdd and Radeon 260x is this ok to play minecraft? for a child

Should be ok especially if you can overclock the CPU a bit or drop in a Xeon x5650 a 6 core CPU that goes for 8 quid.

I have a 5650 spare to
Overclock it to 4 ghz and you got yourself a pretty good gaming CPU that would even take a gpu upgrade in the future to something like a 2060/gtx1080 if your mates child gets more into PC gaming. You would likely get less frame drops than a much newer 4core 4 thread CPU.
