Im looking to build my son a gaming pc for his 10th birthday which is at the start of april just wondering if you kind guys here can spec me up the best bang for buck gaming pc i could build him for around £450-£500 mark. i dont need a monitor, mouse or keyboard as i already have these bits. Thanks in advance.

Hello, there are rumors of a few bits coming in the next couple months, specifically new nvidia graphics cards. But I don't think they will have much of an impact on this level of hardware.

The CPU here is a place holder. the ryzen 1600 af can be found in stock elsewhere for about £90.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £524.55 (includes shipping: £11.70)

Spec above is bang on. But you'll need to ask again in April. Maybe count your chickens and buy the RAM now (or when OcUK have their 20th annie bash) as it's slowly going up again. Wouldn't buy anything else yet.

what about operating system windows 10 how much does this cost?

The cost of a USB stick (8GB minimum) and you can use it already. Download the Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft, install 10 Pro and off you go. Whenever you want to activate it, do a bit of research on key sellers. You can get 10 Pro for £5 or less.

I do the same. But my some has had the activate windows on his screen for well over a year and he just carries on as normal (Gaming only) it doesn't bother him because it's on his second monitor in the corner :D

Nice one. :D

I've got an old un-activated system I power up now and then and whether the watermark appears or not seems to be random.

I'm not sure if it's all the time. But I was always under the impression that if you didn't activate it, it would stop working. He's happily playing Minecraft, fortnight and a few other games no problem.
