VW emissions claim - genuine?

Seen it doing the rounds on Facebook not looked at it or any idea if it is genuine but if there is something to it I'd have thought you'd be able to approach VW directly or their officially appointed management firm and cut out what I assume is a middleman.

I don't know -
but my neighbour with a diesel yeti, told me two days ago he got peanuts for it trade in, because following the 'fix', the dpf was continually registering as needing a regen, so he had to regularly go out for Italian tune-ups ... first victim I've spoken too. .. he wasn't aware of any redress

The "fix" was a bodge to meet what they were ordered to do. They don't GAF about the customers.

Best thing to do is remap it to remove the "fix".

Or like millions of customers simply don’t have it applied our Golf has not and will not be done despite repeated letters from VW.

I fell out with the local VW dealership when they tried to give my wife an MOT failure as a courtesy car so no danger of that a local specialist gets all my business!

Our local VW car specialist is pretty decent but the main dealer I'm less impressed with and the commercial dealer I'm definitely no fan of - so glad now I didn't go in there spend new Amarok money with them as I'd been somewhat tempted to do (nice enough people to deal with - until you need them to call you back :S but I have an increasingly long list of failures by their service department).

I won’t bore you with the details but our local dealership were incapable of writing a simple letter apologising for twice trying to send my wife and baby out in an MOT failure courtesy car despite the involvement of VW U.K. and two attempts at the letter! They were happy to offer discount servicing etc but didn’t have the morals to admit the mistake.
