Hi guys,

After much deliberation over which car to get to replace the Audi S6 (I no longer need a big car), I picked up a nice 2013 M135i in Estoril Blue.

I found one that had a really good spec with lots of options, including:

Adaptive M suspension
M performance exhaust
Electric memory seats
comfort access
reversing camera
sunroom

I was really pleased to find one with the top two options. It drives really nicely and it's nice to be back in such a quick car as it's been a few years since I sold the Jaguar XFR. Am enjoying being in a smaller car for a change. When we need a large family car we have my wife's S-Max now so all good.

It had a niggle which I got some money off for - one of the rear speakers crackles - guessing it's blown?

Apart from that, really pleased with the purchase!!

Used to have one of these decent cars. Loved the engine, super smooth and powerful!

Isn't it the same colour every BMW seems to be from the last 7 years?

@OP

I'll be moving into proper work this summer, and will be travelling a lot (relative to what I do now), and this will be one of the cars on my shortlist. Lovely motor.

A non-white 1 series is a bit of a novelty.

75% of all the 1 Series I see for sale are white!!

Brave to go for one with adaptive suspension on a 7 year old car, but nice colour!

I was thinking that but I'm going to get it covered by a BMW warranty and then take it in for a service and checks in the next few months. Hopefully anything major will be covered then, however all seems fine to begin with!

lovely sound-track -

A private, or dealer purchase ... did you expressly test the dampers then on your test-drive ... speed-bumps, or something more aggressive ?

Hopefully it won't fall under wear and tear!

Yeah mostly by going over speed bumps.

Isn't wear and tear covered up to 100k on the comprehensive policy?

It is indeed. I'm going to phone them tomorrow before I take out the warranty though, as its got one recent service which shows in the iDrive as being done a little late and I know they've got stipulations about stuff like that!

They're fantastic cars aren't they! A mate had one (has a M140 now) and it's performance was pretty much the same as my old non-comp M2.
