FOUND!!! King of the Mountain 2007. Spanish Film Trying to remember a film name.

I asked this some time ago but trying again since different people may see it.

Near the beginning of the film there was a grey car, 99% sure it was a Volkswagen Golf (think it was 4 door). I think it was based something in Germany or somewhere else in Europe.

It was Autumn, they were near/in a forest type area and driving along a single lane road, they came to a stop as there was a fallen tree log blocking their path.

They got out to inspect in and they got shot at into the side window from atop a small hill in the woods and instantly drove off in search of help, shortly they came towards a cobblestone wall and small out building where they entered.

I can visualise it extremely well into my head, but looking up Internet Movie Car Database hasn't helped, but I will try there again.
 
Just watched this clip
It was very similar to the wooded scene, just no other people in the woods, only a lone gunshot, a man and a woman in the car.

Not children of men but ty so far.

I just want to say -- that it probably wasn't a VW golf. this is probably causing you difficulty in finding the film as you are fixated on this bit of info that isn't correct.

Search again but don't discount non-golf cars.

also, i don't recognise the film from your description
