Not sure how they were going to survive. Every high street has it's own network own brand shop now - so the competition for anyone not backed by a network must be impossible to compete with.
From people I know, if they wanted to get the latest iPhone directly through the provider they would fail the credit check most of the time but going through CPW they would always pass.
Also the occasional CPW promotions "buy XYZ phone on contract and get a free TV/Games console/Tablet" It was great for that type of person who would take the TV/Games console/Tablet across the road and get cash for it.
What happened to our good old 12 month contracts and 6 month contracts.![]()
They stopped when they noticed they could make more money from longer contracts.
I haven't had a contract phone for over 10 years. The last contract phone I had was Sony Ericsson C905 back in 2008, which was on 12 months. Then went sim only and purchased my phones outright as it turned out to be better value.
