What's the go-to 2k clear coat for paint repairs these days?

Random job today took my VW golf bumper off to polish the headlights... ended up sanding the entire bumper down. I will be getting a couple cans of VW deep black from Halfords but need a good clear coat to go with it...

I've used Halfords clear before but it tends to be soft (finger nails will imprint even a few days after) so am thinking of using 2k clear this time.

Whats the recommended 2k clear everyone's using these days? Has to be rattle can cos I got no compressor and would be a huge advantage if someone could tell me where to buy it cos we in lock down and all that.

Cheers.

I thought the Halfords one was a 1K. It doesn't have a catalyst can (unless that's changed). I used to use SprayMax 2K, but now have a devilbiss finishline which is incredible at getting a professional finish.

Think I might just do it with Halfords. Not paying 30/can for rattle cans when a body shop would probs do it cheaper than 2 cans of this stuff.

Don't think anywhere sell Hycote apart from online and it's probs not much better than Halfords own brand? Tried to get some from EuroCarParts they said it's order only and will take forever in a lockdown.

most auto body shops should be able to do you a spray can that's better than halfords stuff. you cant do 2k in a spray can though. the idea is you mix two things together then spray through a compressor, and the hardener acts and the solvents flash off, drying the paint.
There are two different types of paint though, cellulose, acrylic etc

You won’t get a 2k clear in a rattle can. You won’t be able to get a rattle can from an auto repair shop either as they don’t carry the equipment to be able to put it into the can. It may be worth googling trade suppliers in your area however I suspect your chances of getting one are slim currently since a lot are shut so short term Halfords or similar is likely to be your best bet.

You absolutely can get 2k clear in a can, the 2 components are kept separate until you push a button on the bottom to break the seal and mix them together.
