Hi All,

Bit of a new one for me this. I pay off my credit card either at the end of the month or a couple of months depending on what I've been buying so generally have a £0 balance outstanding. I've just had a refund on part of my holiday to the tune of £367.11 so my credit card is in credit (i do have a pending balance from Amazon but thats not getting taken till next Monday)

Will this 'credit' on my credit card be automatically taken over to my current account or will i have to do a credit transfer (not something I've done before). I'm with the bank of the scotland and their literature just gives examples of balance transfers when you're short of cash rather have more cash on your credit card than you're supposed to have.

What would you like to do? It’s up to you at the end of the day it’s your credit.

Won’t be moved automatically though you have to manually do it.

Thats what i wasn't sure of. I'd be chucking it back into my current account and using it to overpay my mortgage this month.

In that case you can do that if you are 100% sure you in credit. It’s all good.

Yeah i am sure i am, although bizarely the Amazon amount that was showing as pending, has now mysteriously disappeared! I'm sure it'll appear again though!

Accounts will be balancing out or something. Sometimes that happens unless the Amazon one has bounced. Doubt it though. It will come back.

Yeah I'm sure it will as well. One part of the order arrived on Saturday with the rest following this coming Monday so it'll appear again so I'll only have about £250 in credit once it all balances out.

Just give them a call, they will transfer off for you back to your bank account :)

Ring up your bank and ask them to pay it into your current account or send you a cheque.

Banks don't usually allow you to do this yourself on apps / online banking as it's a money launderer's paradise.

That’s great! Nice to hear people have credit rather than debt.

Nothing really to it. Just be sensible with your money and don't overstretch. There's things i could have bought but refrained cos I've always got a 'what if things go pear shaped' thought when it comes to big purchases.

There is the money transfer option online. Can't see it being a laundering issue really as the money came from my account, through expedia and has now been refunded from expedia to my credit card? Will probably just give them a call regardless though.

I've had this a couple of times.

Rather than faffing away with moving it just use the card to spend on.

If it's only a few hundred likely you'll use it in a month
