Audi A5 alloys ?

Under a lease, you can't even change the tyres away from manufacturers spec without permission, but oddly this isn't the case with PCP or HP.
"Your Mercedes‐Benz must conform
to the original specification of the vehicle. It must have matching tyres (of a size and premium brand, approved by the manufacturer) on each axle, for example, Pirelli or Bridgestone."
I've not personally had a lease with MB, but I've known people who have (and Audi) and the tyres have not been an issue on handing the car back. Either in terms of wear or brand.

So long as you use some common sense and don't put Linglongs or Landsails on it, and it has at least an mm left, you're fine. Dunlops, Kumhos, Avon, Hankook, Yoko etc are all perfectly fine, and what you should be buying anyway, as a minimum.

Federal Nexen Falken Toyo etc are a step up from these as well. And various others.

Nankangs are probably better too but don't buy those :p

They don’t seem that bad! Don’t go that far and it’s not like I’m racing

Doesn't matter how far you go or how you drive, if the driver suddenly has to brake hard to avoid something, they could well mean the difference between thumping into it or not. Especially if it's cold and/or wet.

I had landsails put on because I was sick of nails and screws in my tyres were she works at one point it was one a week! No was picking them up in the yard ! She’s been on nights for 2 week so drove back on hit curb
At least she didn't hit anything/anyone else then...

in retrospect, would buying tyre insurance now have been worthwhile. ... I've scoffed at it before, but if I had regular punctures.

You need a new woman m8, this one's clearly borked.

Seriously though, can someone explain to me how people manage to cause that much damage in one go and then just carry on as if nothing's happened? Do these people not think "oh golly, that sounded darn nasty, I wonder if this here vehicle which is responsible for keeping my family and I alive at speeds at which an impact would otherwise turn us in to soup might be damaged in a way which could otherwise render it dangerous?"

Not to sound rude to your ladyfriend here, but she needs educating on these things. Tell her in no uncertain terms: car make broken noise, car no good. Car feel broken, car no good. Car make impact, car no good.

As for the tyre debate, the worst thing you can cheap out on is tyres. These 4 little hoops of rubber are the only thing keeping you in contact with the road. No amount of traction control, ABS, stability control or any other fancy gadgets can outsmart a crap tyre. You can have the best of every safety system in the world in your car and they'll all be overruled by crap tyres. Watch this video for a more graphic explanation of the difference between cheap and good tyres:

And tell your wife to stop driving over nails. Unless she works on a construction site there's literally no excuse. Even a donkey doesn't keep bumping its head on the same rock over and over.

Bloody hell, I just realised it's all the alloys, not just one. Does your woman drive by touch?

She works on a construction site that’s the thing ! Been sorted now have a bloke go around every Friday with a magnet picking them up.

Well that's me taught then :D

If I'm not mistaken it's the site manager's responsibility to ensure there is adequate parking on site with minimal risks to items or persons. If he's not doing this then it might need to be acted upon, @Maccapacca can you confirm this?

A magnet might be a decent start but it's not going to prevent it happening again. Can she not park local and walk? Then again, having seen those alloys, I think the last place she should be is in the vicinity of other vehicles :D

It went in yesterday afternoon to get fixed I’ve decided to change all four tyres to some high pirelli.

Personally I would leave the alloys. If she managed that then chances are she is absolutely awful at parking and it will happen again within weeks if not days.

Pointless waste of money and time which would be better spent on driving lessons or at least parking lessons.

Can she not park around the block and walk it to the site? It's what I would do if I was getting a busted tyre every week. I certainly wouldn't just keep on parking on the site and buying new tyres.

I know but there horrible so just going to get them done, she said she learnt her lesson to be more careful driving around and parking.

Well I would give it 2 months and see if any more scrapes appear first before forking out £500 to get them repaired.

People saying £50 a wheel. That is very cheap most places charge £100 per wheel sometimes £125.

Think it 50~70 a wheel here
100 and upwards if diamond cut alloys
I took alloy insurance as my other half drives it lol
Was 200 quid for 3 years I think
