You might want to check before you swap as Nvidia have started to support monitors that support Freesync. A 590 is a small upgrade on a GTX 1060 6Gb but the 8Gb of VRAM may give the card a longer lease of useful life.

As the others say, it should work. Make sure freesync is turned on in monitor settings

Nvidia settings - setup G-sync - enable G-sync/gsync compatible - enable settings for selected display model.

Then download the free G-sync pendulum demo and if it shows the g-sync option in that - 'tis workin'.

See the person who wants to buy my card is on my advice he is using my old 960 at the moment and his PSU only has 6 pin and the EVGA uses the 6 pin and he needs to upgrade is GPU anyhow
So what if I added an extra £50 so with say £230 what would I be able to get.
And thanks for your help

I'll second what Infiniteey said.

1660 Super would be a better upgrade than RX 590. You'd be approaching 1070 territory from your 1060, with the RX 590 you remain where you're at.
