Audiophile grade car audio?

Good job no ones paying you for your opinion then. Risk it you would become “professional”

Lol go and look up any professional opinion on bose then.

They are a bit like Beats by Dre. 90% marketing, 10% sound. It isn't "audiophile" grade stuff.

Any audiophiles in this forum? I wonder how you guys treat car audio?

It's a rabbit hole, a money pit and involves endless amounts of frustration as you try and tune a system that ultimately lives in a poor environment for audio.

My top tip is to spend as much as possible on treatment and use a DSP/processor, as it'll make life a lot easier for tuning.

No professionals use Bose stuff.

In what sense?
As i know a masterer that checks mixes on a beaten up Bose system and i would say they're a professional.

And to say X, Y or Z brand sounds 'muddy' or lacks this and that, well it's all subjective as audio is opinions.
And what most people say about those two brands you mentioned, Bose and Dr Dre, is that they're generally expensive for what is offered; not that they are outright **** as you seem to suggest.

A lot of cars have integrated systems where the manufacturer has just gone "that'll do", to save money with everything on it. So you're stuck with a bang on average system which you can't improve.

Certainly in higher-end cars/manufacturers the systems (regardless of brand) will be tuned to the environment, so they should, again it's all subjective, sound pretty damn good compared to replacing it all with a load of Sony Xplod 6x9s.

You won't be able to install an aftermarket amp etc in to an integrated "infotainment" system.

Depends on manufacturer (car/system used) as there are a few 'boxes' out that'll get you your optical out to throw to your bit one processor (or whatever).

what is this competition for maximum number of speakers about though ?
yes there are only small spaces availible for speakers, you want a balanced frequency response for 1 or 4 occupants, easy requirements to optmise.
I've never seen any kind of objective acoustic analysis that justifies this approach.

quick google on tesla look like either you take an analogue from 'headunit', into your own dsp, so no spdif,
or, even, circumvent it completely, to stay digital, streaming from a phone to a chromecast audio, into a dsp
