can you even still get boards that old? z68 is pretty long in the tooth now and I'd be amazed if you can find one other than 2nd hand.

Yes they're compatible mate and I'd go with one of the z77 boards

They all are, the Z68 might need a bios update to work with the 3570K however so I'd go with one of the Z77 options as advised by @alex h .
