Mines not looking good

Assuming you still have access to the internet, you may have had an IP change, as IIRC, this can generate a graph like this. I think you have to stop and restart the monitor to make it pick up the new IP up. If you have no internet, then the graph is correctly showing no connectivity.

how does it work? Does it run off my PC or is it a remote thing?
The website pings your IP frequently, no installation needed.

I've had my BBQM running for at least a year now and it's never impacted the quality of the connection. I keep it running so when things go pear shaped, I can show engineers the graphs to help them trace the problem - the time and date helps them massively when searching cabinet logs, etc, to find what caused my problems.

Indeed, mine has been running over 3 years. It's a setup and forget thing which can help you out if you experience problems.

Everything seems to be ok now.

At least this outage wasn't as bad as last months!

Or your're blocking ICMP from the TB ping servers.

Thanks enabled ICMP on the Asus :p

Guys, I need an email address or postal address where I can put a complaint in. I'm still trying to resolve my issue where they've been charging me for a 'free' sim given to me on the ooomph deal. I've just phone again for the 3rd time, after waiting on hold for half an hour and finally getting through, she's taken my details, got into the account and quickly hung up. What's wrong with these people?

Thanks ^

I was able to message them via their website on April 7th, in quite some detail, totally ignored. Where are their call centres based, they aren't accents I recognise. I've never been with VM before but they seem like an absolute nightmare company to deal with if you have issues.

tell me about it - last time they price hiked I called and was told "if you don't like it leave, I don't care" - this when I said I didn't understand how the increase was well above RPI and inflation so how does that comply with the terms. Customer service my backside! If I had a viable alternative I damn well would leave. But it's them or 2mb adsl. Nothing in between. Given I have a contractual obligation to maintain a fast internet connection for remote working.... I think they know this. They must have something on the system that does the check.

They done it to a lot of mobile customers recently - told everyone they were being moved to a higher plan or leave - quite a lot disgruntled. Actually worked out OK for me as I was planning on increasing my package anyhow and what they were "offering" me was a good £5/m cheaper compared to anywhere else or their normal price. But they also just arbitrarily changed my "Lifetime discount" which had a date of 2099 to 2020 and said like it or leave. So once the prices aren't in my favour I will leave.

(It is a shame as in many other respects they do a good job).

I've written a letter, will post it first thing tomorrow via recorded del.

I'm currently in a chat with a VM customer service advisor via their text messaging service. At least this is 'logged' I suppose. His last message got me worried slightly....

'' This is indeed a free SIM from your broadband service, hence there should not be bill charge for this.

But since you cancelled your Media service, the SIM should also be cancelled. ''

Cancelled my media service?!?? You what mate!?!?!

Phone cancellations - from memory, options 4 > 4 > 2 when you call 150. They will sort you out.

I'm getting about 1/4 of the speed I'm supposed to and bad pings still. You can only log a problem when it's down through their site which is annoying.

Thanks ^

Somewhere in Asia. It's always a nightmare to deal with these call centers. You just have to call back until you get someone you can actually understand :/

VPN'ed into work about 7:30am this morning and its been rock solid all day here (Ellesmere Port area). No disconnects and speedtest is showing my full 200meg download service. If people do still have problems, I guess its local now.

I was actually thinking of changing from Plusnet at 50Mb Sync.
However having read a few pages I think that idea is dead in the water.

My experience of VM is area dependant; I've had years of good service in Cardiff, then moved to a different area in the city and it was crap, really bad so swapped to BT. Moved house again recently and couldn't resist the 350Mbps package, and its been brilliant up until now that appears to be a nationwide event. BT has always had a lower latency network in my experience, minimal to zero jitter but the bandwidth of VM is really desirable.
