I'd like to get some external speakers for my iMac, to add better sound. I'm not too bothered about wired / wireless, but as well as good rich sound I'd like them to be aesthetically complementary e.g. fit in well with the design of the iMac.

Just looking for stereo - no need for fancy surround systems. Any ideas?

I've got some ageing Bose Companion 3 and they sound great, probably a little dated now I guess. There's a new model but they're £300 so quite pricey.

Thanks for the suggestions chaps, not quite what I'm looking for. The Bose look a bit 1970s square box, and the Harmon Kardon look a bit tacky.

Stereo HomePods? Not exactly cheap, but I know people say having two of them is great.

I should point out, that I am not an audiophile in any way, shape or form though.

Thanks again. I'm not really a smart speaker fan. Budget is around £200, but I can flex - nothing else to spend money on at the moment!

I love my Bose Companion 20's but they may be a little 70's for you too. However they are at least silver and kind of look a bit MacPro cheesegrater (if I close my eyes and squint a bit). Simple two speaker setup with no sub woofer but still sound good.
