Hi all,

I've been growing a number of plants in my greenhouse but something is coming after the chilly, aubergine and tomato plants

I have some sprays for this but they dont seem to work
do sprays have a lifetime or a use by date?

also what suggestions to people have to stop this from happening? feeling frustrated right now so much hard work going ti*** up

wondering how enclosed your greenhouse is ,not a daft question as mine has a pane missing and afew patched up ,if slugs and snails can sneak in i use old ground coffee elsewhere in the garden, but if its other pests maybe some complimentary plant planting ,this isnt the best article maybe but conveys my thoughts http://home.bt.com/lifestyle/house-...ome-grown-vegetables-and-crops-11364070205578
having said all this im nowhere near knowledgeable on these things ,i just try and think how i would think in this position

fairy liquid mixed with water - spray all over plants leaves but not the soil. cover the soil if you can. you may need to repeat this a few times to get the ones you missed earlier.

If entire leaves or even plants are disappearing overnight leaving only a bare stalk its almost certainly slugs or snails they love chillis not so much tomatoes. Sprays have no effect on them you'll need bait. Pop down to the greenhouse during the night with a torch you'll probably spot the buggers as they're active after dark, have a wander around the garden on a damp summers evening and you'll be amazed you may even hear them munching

yes SLUGS those pesky things

I've now put some pallets down in a very clever pattern, the sneaker little buggers!

and all that time.... I was using every spray I had. Damnit

slugs and snails are crazy man they can get everywhere.

I live 3 floors up and my balcony often has slugs, right now theres a huge snail on the wall.
I've even seen a slug crawling up the outside of my bedroom window lol...

seems like they will just go right up and over tall buildings :O

coppers supposed to stop them since they get an electric shock from it or something

thought it was aphids if it's snails and slugs then a law was passed year banning the good pellets. i managed to find someone still selling them on ebay and bulk ordered enough to last me a few years. the new pellets are apparently rubbish.
