WD and Seagate warranties must be amazing. There can't be many manufacturers who would cover courier damage following eBay sales.
Right - because I call up WD and I say "Yer, I was shipping your HD out and when it reached its destination it was no longer working - so if you wouldn't mind replacing it please....."
I raised an online RMA, filled in the fault - that the drive was clicking when powered up and Windows couldn't see it. RMA issued, drive returned, 3 days later I had a replacement.
I'll do the same with the Firecuda - raise an RMA, tell them the fault and return it.
If they have the time to plug it in, interrogate shock sensors they may well get in contact and tell me it won't be replaced under warranty. However, I expect it'll be "binned" and a refurbished one will be sent out to me.
