Hello all,
This is going to be a generally weird question so bare with me.

My mum has a Jaguar E-Pace 2019 HSE, unsurprisingly (being a Jaguuuar) it has had to go in for a water pump failure within the first year, as a loan car my mum has a Range Rover Evoque 2019 HSE. One thing she particularly commented on was the screen and how much readable it is. Now, it isn't really but the E-Pace has it's screen at a stupid angle and any sunlight directly reflects off it.

To be fair my mum doesn't use the screen a huge amount, but for calls, radio and the odd navigation she does so I was trying to find essentially a 'Sun Visor' for the E-Pace to neatly fit on the dashboard and make it easier for her to see but I found nothing and I feel I have reasonably strong Google-Fu so apart from cardboard and some duct tape (have considered it :p) does anyone know of any solutions as to what I am asking or a route to go down (I am thinking someone with a 3D printer).

Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

Is there not some anti-reflection film you could buy and stick over the screens, I know you can buy them for monitors and laptops etc ?

Thanks for the help all I was thinking some kind of visor but that screen cover may just do the job. Much appreciated.

Odd, my wife has an E Pace and its not something we have had an issue with at all. She is 5ft and I’m 5ft10 so it’s not even a height issue.

seems he's not the only one

Jaguar has designed the infotainment system to sit in a neutral position, rather than tilting it towards the driver. That’s not a big deal; heaps of other cars are like that. What is a big deal, however, is the fact that the screen is tilted up at what must be a 20- to 25-degree angle towards the roof. This means that if you’re driving on a sunny day, the screen is hit with a huge amount of glare making it virtually impossible to see and interact with. With the panoramic moonroof, the glare would be even worse.

so - are they vertical on most cars ?

I've not noticed the issue on my f-pace and I have the panoramic roof. Strange.

Order some anti glare film and hold it over without sticking it to see if it helps. You can adjust the screen brightness if it becomes an issue. I find the brightest setting to be overpowering so have it down quite low and in dark mode.

I have similar issues on mine, im 6ft 6 though so might be part of the issue.

I bought an anti glare screen protector and that has helped but not solved the issue.

No it won't Have you tried looking at modern screen, displays or HUDs with polarised lenses (or even a phone screen). Good luck

I have absolutely no issues with the 8" infotainment screen in my Octavia with polarised sunglasses, nor the small display between the dials.

Octavia though. The S6 you can't see the HUD or the climate display with polarising glasses on. The infotainment is fine, but that's because even though the car is 2018, it's from 2008 and therefore looks like a SNES. Perfect for any glasses. Same in the Discovery, the temp in the dials doesn't appear and the Interactive Infotainment screen (the main dials) don't show up fully with polarising sunnies on.

not that (many/any?) cars have oleds yet, but are phones with oled screens more viewable than led where polarising levels are more common,

& even with led displays, doesn't visibility depend on orientation of filters .... do some sunglasses have 45degrees, to 'cope' with either orientation of car screen
