Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help.

I have recently bought a new PC but seem to have bought an OEM Corsair 220T case, and I think that it will come without the fans included. I will need to buy and install some myself, but I'm completely new to PC building.

The PC is due to arrive on Monday.

Other than the fans, themselves, (I will buy Corsair ones for compatibility) what else will I need to buy? I am concerned about how they connect to the motherboard and/or PSU. Do I need to buy something else or will they connect into what I already have.

The MOBO is a Asus Prime Z390-P and the PSU is Corsair RM850x 850W. I also will have a Corsair Hydro Series H100i RGB Pro XT High Performance Liquid Cooling System w/ 240mm Radiator, for the CPU

I hope that all makes sense, and someone will be able to help, if any further info is needed please just ask!

Best,

Andrew

Hello
A Few Questions before I suggest what to buy.

Do you want RGB fans? (Makes the case light up like an Xmas tree)
Do you want Quiet fans?
Are you concerned about the inside of your new PC getting hot & dust getting inside? (Neither of these is good for PC parts)

Are you going to install the Radiator in the top or the front of the case?

I have the Corsair ICUE 220T Case on my other PC
Case New, comes with 3 x Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB PRO Addressable LEDs Case Fans 120mm
& The lighting node core installed behind the motherboard tray.

Thanks both for your replies,

Thanks,

I don't particularly care about RGB fans, and I would rather have better cooling with noise, than very quiet and not as good cooling.
Yes I am concerned about it getting hot and dusty. I am not sure about the location of the radiator, the company I bought from will be building.

I have the Corsair ICUE 220T Case on my other PC

Yes I understand that the case comes with 3 fans, but when I look back on the case for my order its says

Corsair 220T Mid-Tower Gaming Case w/ Tempered Glass Side Panels (OEM – No Fans) (Black Colour), and so I am presuming it will come without fans.

Would this mean that it would also come without the lighting node core? So if I wanted fans with I would have to buy this too?

Thanks!

the Corsair 3 x iCUE SP120 RGB PRO Triple fan Pack comes with a lighting node core, around £45
other corsair fan packs come with other lighting devices

Thanks,

Great, so there would be the lighting node included if it didn't come with the case.

Then in terms of connecting the fans, I presume two cables from each fan. One cable going to the lightning node, and the other to power the fan.

I presume the cables would come with the fan, and where do the power cables connect to?

And would it be a simple job to add say 2 at the front and 1 at the rear, or would it involve removing lots of other components in order to gain access to where the cables need to go?

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it.

Right, Another suggestion.

The fans that are included with the H100i are the ones below. The case will take 6 fans in total. You want 3 intake fans & 3 exhaust fans, or 2 & 2. Dont do odd amount of fans or you could have - air pressure inside the case. This means dust being sucked in through gaps in the case. H100i onto the Aio pump fan header. The other fans (Up to you) connect to the fan splitter (Again, below) there is a splitter for 5 fans as well, to the CPU fan header on the board. You can control the fan speed in the Bios but if you select auto & PWM the fans will adjust speed as required.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £33.56 (includes shipping: £4.66)

Yes, most Corsair Fan packs come with a Lighting node core or Lighting node pro, they show you in photos
There are 2 fan cables, 1 is for the RGB & connects to the Lighting Hub & the Fan RPM control cable connects to the motherboard fan header or a fan control device
the lighting node is powered by a SATA connecter from the PSU & the USB cable connects to a USB 2.0 header on the motherboard to use the Corsair ICUE Software for the RGB colors/patterns

2 x fans intake front & 1 x rear exhaust is all good :)

You can by other Fans brands that Automatic do a rainbow RGB without an RGB cable
Also with 4 pin PWM, less cable clutter UPhere do fan packs for very cheap

Heres some of the fans I use on my small ITX Build

if you got H100i then do what Grimley suggest

The Rad can go at the front or up the top of the 220T Case
