Can anyone point me in the direction of laptop manufacturers that have half decent cooling?
I believe MSI laptops us emore heat pipes in their cooling setups so would assume they have a bit more ability to shift the heat to the fans.
I've read the PC specialist laptops may struggle with cooling but can't be certain as I've never seen one in the flesh.

Are there any others worth a look at or is it a case of looking at reviews for specific models.

I think I will be looking for a laptop with a 4600H/4800H and possibly a 2060 or 2070 GPU.

From my own experience msi do have great cooling for their bigger laptops. Ie the titan model. I have a gt73 and the cooling is brilliant. And it doesn't sound like a jet taking off.

What about their smaller laptops? I was aiming for a 15.6" laptop but now thinking about just going for a 17" item for bigger screen.

I have had quite a few DELL laptops over the years. My first dell is still going after 10+years.replacement batteries ofc but still seems to be a good make

I just don't know who to pip for this time. My parents have had a couple of Dell machines which have all failed fairly quickly so put off them also. Any idea what Lenovo Legion are like?

Ah sorry, I'll be looking for a 2060 I think and I guess a minimum of 6 core processor. I'm in no rush really but would be good to have a rough idea what to look for so I can keep my eyes peeled for a deal.

Part of me thinks just to get a 6 core 1660ti/2060 now and enjoy it for a few years before it would need looked at for an upgrade or wait longer and get an 8 core with a 2060/2070 and hope it lasts longer.

Better valueand changeability/upgradeability with a pc
Is it have to be a laptop?for gaming?

I've got a newly built PC at home which I use daily.
The reason for the laptop is I work away from home 3 weeks away and 3 weeks home so would take it to work for gaming on. At the minute I've just been packing my Playstation.

Save up and go for the Ryzen imo. An 9750 in a thin chassis is asking to throttle, this coming from someone who owns an Aero 15x so I have first hand experience of how hot these intel chips run. The ROG Zepyhrus G14/15 is what I would be buying at this level.

Yeah understood although I'm hearing the G15 thermals aren't good with the 4800H.
I'm keeping my eye on the Omen one now. See how that fairs.

Does anyone have any idea when we can expect the G14 to be readily available? It just seems to keep getting pushed back
