Hey cool cats and kittens
Hope everyone is well and not too down with lockdown. Anyway I've been a console player all my life and fancy trying pc play. I've been looking into doing a pc build for a while, so been watching loads of youtube builds. My major issue I have is I dont have an unlimited budget and also dont want to throw loads of money at a build, to use once and never use again.
I managed to get my hands on a tower off a mates son. He had previously used it as a gaming pc but got viruses on it so brought a new one. I've had a look at it and not sure if its upto much. It looks as if it's a standard PC converted into a gaming pc.
What I really need is advice on the gear inside it, whether it's worth upgrading or just scrapping it and starting again.
I'm gonna try get what info I can from it and post on here, hopefully you can help me out

Side note, I would only use to play cod on it and maybe daughters use for school work

Cheers all

Not what I was hoping to hear. Oh well.
Any ideas where to start and what I gear I'd need?
I know that is the most vague question but I dont really wanna spend a lot. Would probably say £300 to start with but the possibility of upgrading if I like it. I have a keyboard and mouse and will use tv as monitor to start

At that budget, your best bet would be either 2nd hand, or have a look at a 3200g based system on the auction site, that you can add to over time.

Actually, just over budget, although you should be able to find the cpu £20 or so cheaper. You can add a graphics card, more disk space, more memory, upgrade CPU etc over time

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £349.16 (includes shipping: £12.30)

Thanks mate, how come you dont need a graphics card straight away? I thought that was a major part.
Also would u be able to play cod on that set up? Or should I just save a bit more and extend the budget? I'm not very patient so ain't sure if the waiting will happen lol

They are decent enough, as long as you don't want to play at full detail and high frame rates. I've built a few boxes with them. Fine for Fifa, FM2020, and have played stuff like GTA, Battlefield etc on them. Only the 3200G and 3400G have onboard graphics (hence the G in the name)
