Hi,

I have a birthday coming up and thought I would maybe spend a few quid on my setup. I built it over Xmas 2015 from a 8 pack bundle. It's been a great computer but I don't have a very good up to date knowledge of PC components.

Only real issues is I get a RAM warning on Half Life Alex (Not enough) and long load times. Video editing could always be faster and obviously the higher frame rates the better in VR although it's still pretty good from the Zotac 1070.

I have just ordered another 2x4GB sticks of Kingston Fury Black RAM (Same part numbers as the originals) Is it just plug and play?

I spend my time split between video editing in 2k using Davinci Resolve and VR Gaming HTC Vive (Half Life Alex, Elite Dangerous, Project Cars 2, Dirt Rally).

Overclocked i5 6400@ 4.4GHz
Kingston Fury Black 8GB DDR4 (2x4GB)DDR4 PC4-21300C15 2666MHz
Alpenföhn Brocken 2 CPU Cooler
Crucial BX200 240GB SSD - 1 X Seagate Firecuda 2TB SSHD1 X Seagate 320GB HDD
Zotac Amp Extreme GTX1070
SuperFlower HX 550W
Aerocool Aero 1000 Midi Tower Case

Thank you in advance

See how you go with the extra ram but apart from that and maybe a 1tb SSD as a game drive I wouldn't invest anymore into the PC as it stands but rather save for a newer motherboard/cpu combo.

Thanks, good call. I hadn't thought about a bigger SSD. I keep my video files and steam library on the Seagate Firecuda so if I can keep them on an SSD I assume they will probably render faster.
