Some games are freezing with RTX 2070 super

Ah you meant a GPU stress test. I would certainly look at stress testing your CPU/Memory. ASUS Realbench usually brings up instability issues pretty quickly for me if you want to give that a go.

As above, event viewer always shows nVidia driver resets when I've had an overclock fail. That being said if the system locks up right away and is unresponsive, nothing might get logged there.

quick one do the latest rxt cards support direct x 9, just checked my version and i only see direct x 12?, I'm running a zotac rtx 2080 ti

also which card did the op have before the rtx 2070 super?

Update for future reader: I called Overclockers support, they asked me to run two tests : memtest86 and primer95

memtest86 ran from a usb stick for about 3h (for 16GiB of ram), it ran all tests 4 times (48 tests in total), and found 0 error

primer95 ran from windows, I used CoreTemp to track my cpu's temperature and task manager to track ressource usage during the test. All cpu were used at 100% and went up to 81 degree C. Ram was use at ~98%, it seems primer95 was also sending regular small network traffic. The pc froze during the test aroun 5-10 minute after starting it.

I reran primer95 a few times with the same result every time.

I'm now thinking my cpu is the problem. I'll call overclockers support and see with them what I can do

From the event viewer I have an error at boot time regarding VT-x being unsupported and causing an HAXM to fail. I'm not sure if this is related or not.

Thank you to all that helped me. I'll update again after the call.

update

Runnning primer95 generated the same freeze behavior, I contacted overclockers support and the pc was sent back for repair.

They identified the problem: "CPU was undervolting", they replaced it.
