Hey all,

I currently play a lot of Warzone and tend to get around 80-100 FPS at 1440p using mostly low settings, just have AA on highest to eliminate visual noise issues I was dealing with. I have an Acer Predator XB271HU monitor (27", 1440p, IPS, 144hz / 165hz G-Sync) and would like to get the most out of this in terms of frames per second.

What upgrades to the below would be recommended to achieve this? The more cost effective the better, of course. :)

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070Ti (overclocked)
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600x (overclocked to 3.8Ghz)
CPU COOLER: be quiet! Dark Rock 4
RAM: Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) - 3200Mhz
MOBO: Gigabyte Aorus GA-AX370-Gaming 5 AMD X370
PSU: Antec EarthWatts Gold Pro 650W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply
SSD: TeamGroup 480GB L5 Lite SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps
HDD: Seagate 2TB BarraCuda Internal Hard Drive
CASE: Antec P8 Midi-Tower Gaming Case

I really appreciate any advice from you wonderful experts here who have helped me decide every build I've ever made. :)

Just going to add a comment here so I can follow I have similar specs just a 980ti and get the same fps in warzone hoping to push it a little higher too so see what people suggest for you :)

GPU upgrade first and foremost - either 2070 Super or 5700 XT will be a nice boost. The 2070S is £100 more but can achieve 10-15% more FPS than the 5700 XT in CoD from benchmarks I've seen.

Depends if the extra £100 is worth it to you. Either card will run CoD max settings @ 1440p anyway. Personally I went for the 2070S last year and don't regret it. :D

If you've got enough loose change, then CPU upgrade to 3600 would also help, coming from a 1600X. Make sure you update your mobo's BIOS first though.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Personally for mine im thinking of holding off on the GPU upgrade until september to see what those new amphere and AMD cards are like, is the 3600x a big improvement over my 4790k?

I'm doing the same, currently got a 1080 - just not worth it to upgrade right now imo as the gain in performance of the current gen of cards is pretty pitiful. 3600 will probably be a significant improvement, especially if you're hitting 100% usage in games. 3600X is not really worth it over the 3600 either as you can overclock it anyway.

It'll do 144 fps in multiplayer at high settings but I very much doubt its going to average there - in warzone you can absolutely forget about it, even a 2080ti is not gonna average that 144fps maxed out at 1440p. My vote is to just wait it out til the next gen of cards, you will get a boost upgrading now but I think you'd be left disappointed by the performance increase.

If you have to upgrade now, 5700xt is by far the better value for money https://www.overclock3d.net/reviews...c_performance_review_and_optimisation_guide/7

I never said it would average 144 fps - and OP never said he wanted it to either lol

Just giving my experience running a 2070S @ 1440p on max settings, both CoD MP and Warzone I get a comfortable 80+ fps consistently.

I mean, if you have a 144hz monitor that's what you want to be playing at ideally, OP suggests as much in the post title.

It's personal preference but I don't find 80fps a good experience in first person shooters, not when you get used to higher fps anyway

My input:

I have moved from a 4690k @ 4.5Ghz and a 1070 to a 3600 with a 2070 super in the last week. I was averaging about 70-80 fps on Warzone with settings on low at 1440p/144hz with 90-100% CPU utilization, frame drops and stuttering etc. Since the switch I am consistently averaging 120+ on warzone and 140 on multiplayer (which i what i have it capped at) with about 40% CPU load - just XMP and no OC on any other components yet.

There are always new components on the horizon with better performance and I was hesitant in upgrading now but I have no regrets. CPU wise I'll swap to a 4000/4000XT in a year or two and just miss the 3070 and go for a 3070 super.

3600 Ryzen can be found for £155ish and if i didnt have a Gsync monitor I would have gone 5700XT and saved £100.
