First one died probably normalish time after 2 years or so of usage in april.
Second one within a few weeks.
Third one today.

My theory is they using improper cheap chinese parts. But could there be another reason for it?

2 years for an oven is not ‘normal’, not even close. Sure elements and fans need replacing every now and then it not after 2 years.

It also doesn’t matter where the parts are made, of there poor there poor. Just because something is made in China doesn’t make it rubbish, they’ll make anything to what ever spec you want. Case in point, Apple iPhone vs knock off masks.

What oven is it?

recently got new element after 6 years usage
1 maybe but 2 and 3 in such a short period somethings wrong
i doubt its the parts more likely a fault with the oven would be my opinion
though not an electrician

I thought it was obvious what I meant so I will rephrase, I meant cheap no name chinese knock off parts, obviously official parts manufactured in china would be ok.

My Candy oven used to eat elements. Tried original elements, Hoover elements, then some cheap ones.
Replaced oven eventually

Personally i'd be checking whether the fan is working properly (make sure to check it's still spinning when heated up) or at all and also maybe replace the thermostat.

maybe the thermostat needs replacing for the oven

why you letting LL replace an oven element? its like changing a light bulb thats behind a removable panel

just get your own element of ebay

Its not like changing a light bulb at all, the entire oven has to be pulled out to access it. Plus with my physical capability its very hard as well.

The last guy took 40 mins to do it, really struggled.

Also its the LL property, what happens if I mess it up, I am then liable for damage I caused.

I can't speak for your cooker but with Creda, Hotpoint, Indesit and Ariston you unbolted from inside the oven, pulled the element forward, clipped the wires with a couple of clothes pegs so they don't go back through the holes and then put the new one on.
I repaired them for 27 years and my Hotpoint is exactly the same, it is very old though.

oh I wasn't aware you had mobility issues.

if you know how for most people it's pretty straight forward though.

I've changed the belt on dryers as well, now that is a bloody headache without the proper tools.
the belts like 2-3inches too short and have to be stretched over which is stupidly hard, took 2 of us and a screwdriver as a wedge lol..
I was like erm yea never again.

but anyway with ovens in my experience it's just unscrew the cover, unscrew the element off the back of the oven.
pull the element forward being careful the wires don't slide off and get lost down the back.

slide the wires on to the new element, screw it on the back of the oven, put the cover back on and your done.

but yea if you have trouble bending down and getting on all 4's it would be not worth the trouble.

I just think there's so many easy repair jobs on household items that take maybe 10-20 minutes, relatively simple but most peoples first thoughts is to buy new or pay someone else to do it.

Yeah anything bending my legs is a problem, even just bending whilst standing is a killer. My oven is quite low down, I would need to be on all 4's to work on it, then undo the screws at the front to remove the oven, the element is on the back side of the oven.

Every oven I've ever done has has the element bolted in from the back side where the wiring is so both the back and the inside cover of the oven need to be taken off.

It does require a bit of dexterity working on the inside, especially on a range where the fan oven is essentially on the floor but otherwise as you say its a pretty easy job. That said if I was in a let property I'd expect the landlord to deal with it.

I did a washing machine element a few weeks ago, simple job but it was a right PITA to get the thing out. It was welded in with years of limescale, took a lot of levering and a few choice before it came out. New one went in in about 45 seconds after a good clean inside.
